Rachel Smyth and George McMahon celebrated their wedding at Cortijo Maria Luisa in Nerja, surrounded by family and close friends beneath the Spanish sun. Their close friend Keith Duffy acted as celebrant, bringing a particularly personal connection to the ceremony.
Dougie Farrelly and the Silverscreen team captured their wedding photography and film, from George getting ready with his groomsmen and Rachel’s bridal preparations in their luxury villa, their wedding ceremony and quiet moments between them to the celebrations that followed late into the evening.

Rachel Smyth and actor George McMahon celebrated their wedding at Cortijo Maria Luisa in Nerja, surrounded by family, close friends and familiar faces from Irish television and music. George, known to many viewers as Mondo in Fair City, married professional dancer and choreographer Rachel in a ceremony they had written themselves.
Their close friend Keith Duffy acted as celebrant, making the ceremony especially personal for Rachel and George.
WEDDING CEREMONY
George was supported on the day by his best man and lifelong friend Ronan Carroll, his brother-in-law Ronan O’Halloran, and fellow actor Dave O’Sullivan as Rachel made her way to the ceremony. Music was provided by Tony Kelly and Vicky Kenny, adding another personal element to the celebration.
The setting at Cortijo Maria Luisa gave Rachel and George the privacy to bring everyone together for a relaxed wedding in the Spanish sunshine, followed by an evening of dinner, music and celebration.
MESSAGES FROM FRIENDS
Later in the day, Rachel and George watched a surprise slideshow organised by Rachel’s sister Arlene, bringing together photographs and memories from their relationship.
It was followed by video messages from friends including Ronan Keating, Shane Lynch and former Westlife singer Brian McFadden. Messages also came from Rachel and George’s wider circle, including Maclean Burke, Ben Condron, Wesley Doyle, Nigel Mercier, Enda Oates, Tommy O’Neill, Michael Sheehan, Johnny Ward, Twink and Michael English.
The messages brought plenty of laughter and emotion before the evening celebrations began.

The approach throughout the day was to let events unfold naturally while being ready for the moments that mattered, from the ceremony until they danced the night away.
The couple’s wedding has since been featured by the Irish Examiner and Irish Independent.
